Music from Occitania\, which is the medieval name for the south of France and parts of Spain and Italy. This involves passionate polyphony (multiple voices) and rhythms that merge together\, creating a trance-like atmosphere. The group is a duo\, composed of Manu Théron and Damien Toumi\, both on vocals and percussion. They bring out old and forgotten songs and present them in an innovative and enchanting way. \nPolyphony means that individual voices seek different and complementary rhythms and melodies. These live and develop through a wonderful and inexplicable musical journey that Duò Lavoà Lapò has learned to master. DESCRIPTION:STAGE DE CHANT DES PAYS D’ÒC AVEC MÀNU THERON ET DAMIEN TOUMI\nUniversité occitane d’été de Laguepie (82) \nTous niveaux – 25 stagiaires maximum.\n10h-12h / 14h-17h\nStage accessible à tous\, par adhesion à La Compagnie du Lamparo. \nSTAGE DE CHANT DES PAYS D’ÒC AVEC MÀNU THERON ET DAMIEN TOUMI\nLes Pays d’Òc sont aujourd’hui tous animés d’une envie de chanter la langue\, pour continuer à la faire entendre et résonner dans le concert des cultures populaires du monde entier. La musique de cette langue et de ces pays s’est adaptée à une envie devenue besoin\, puis nécessité. Cette évidence de la polyphonie exige cependant quelques connaissances de base\, quelques réflexions\, mais surtout une pratique curieuse de tous les répertoires. Damien Toumi et Mànu Theron ont donc choisi de re-visiter une demi-douzaine de chants d’Auvergne\, de Gascogne\, de Provence\, du Languedoc et du Pays Niçois\, non pour démontrer une parenté\, mais pour construire\, par la polyphonie\, le lien entre toutes ces provenances. D’exercices de respiration ou d’écoute en de jeux rythmiques et de placement harmoniques\, ils viendront inspirer la joie de concevoir et de produire ce son unique\, par l’apprentissage de ces répertoires.
